CCON Catalog Search Help

To search for a book, AV item, or reference material, simply type in as much of the title as you know in the Title box. Watch for spelling errors and leave off any article from the beginning of a title (e.g. a, the, etc.).

To locate items BY AUTHOR, enter search items in the Author box.

To locate items BY SUBJECT, TITLE, SUBTITLE, and AUTHOR enter search items in the KEYWORD box.

To locate items BY DATE, enter a YEAR in the Date box. (e.g. 2002). You can also use the < and > signs to limit your search. (e.g. Use >1995 to find items newer than 1995).

To NARROW your search results

 To narrow your search to an exact title, enter in an = sign directly followed by the name in the Title field. (e.g. =nursing research)

 To combine more than one search term together in the Keyword field, insert the & symbol in between the entered terms. (e.g. pediatrics & nursing)
To EXPAND your search results
/
 To search similar terms or synonyms (e.g. woman / women).

 To find different variations of a word (e.g. addict* retrieves records with the words addict, addicts, addiction, etc.).
